R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, In commemoration of half a century of marriage, 
Raymond "Nick" and Carolyn Nicholas of Midland celebrated their 
golden wedding anniversary with a memorable family trip; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Nicholas married the love of his life, the 
former Carolyn Hanson, on January 17, 1954, in a ceremony held at 
Axtell Methodist Church in Axtell, Kansas; through the years, they 
have nurtured a rewarding relationship that has brought much 
happiness to these two committed individuals; and
	WHEREAS, Devoted to their family, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas take 
great pride in their two sons, Mark and Kurt Nicholas; and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Nicholas has been a dedicated homemaker 
throughout her marriage, while Mr. Nicholas is retired from a 
career in the oil industry; the couple are faithful congregants of 
Trinity Presbyterian Church and are active in the Rotary Club, the 
Midland Bowling Association, and Just Dance Country; and
	WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas have experienced the 
trials and triumphs of half a century, and it is a pleasure to join 
in honoring their enduring union; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Raymond "Nick" and Carolyn 
Nicholas on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
