R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In commemoration of their golden wedding anniversary on January 16, 2004, Eddie and Chata Mee of Midland were honored with a surprise champagne limousine ride to a photography session, a drive with friends, and a family gathering at Venezia's Restaurant; and WHEREAS, Mr. Mee married the former Audrey Carole Miller on January 16, 1954, at the Congregational Church in the bride's hometown of Woodbridge, Connecticut; the newlyweds honeymooned in New York City before Mr. Mee left for Cuba to complete his military service with the United States Navy; and WHEREAS, Devoted to their family, Mr. and Mrs. Mee take great pride in their four children and their spouses, Eddie Mee and his wife, Juanita, Wendy Mathis and her husband, Russell, Doug Mee and his wife, Chrissie, and Ellie Hackey and her husband, Don; through the years, they have also happily welcomed the arrival of nine beloved grandchildren, Andy, Holly, John, and Ray Mee, Katie, Laura, and Mollie Mathis, and Audrey and Cade Hackey; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Mee has been a dedicated homemaker throughout her marriage, while Mr. Mee has been employed with American Express Financial Services for more than 35 years; the couple are valued congregants of Grace Lutheran Church; and WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Mee have shared the trials and triumphs of five decades, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring their enduring union; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Eddie and Chata Mee on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Mee as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
