R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary is truly cause for 
rejoicing, and on February 20, 2004, Samuel and Lora Jean Howard of 
Midland marked this significant milestone in their long and happy 
marriage; and
	WHEREAS, Samuel Howard and Lora Jean Cravein were married on 
February 20, 1954, in Palestine; the couple moved to Midland in 
1956; over the years their treasured family has grown to include 
three children,  Harold Howard, Regina Davis, and the late Sandra 
Moore, as well as four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; 
and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Howard has been a pipeliner for 48 years and Mrs. 
Howard works for Joan Bel; respected members of their community, 
the Howards are also valued congregants of Antioch Baptist Church, 
where Mr. Howard serves as a deacon; and
	WHEREAS, To celebrate this special anniversary, the Howards 
repeated their vows and attended a dinner and dance at Ranchland 
Hills Country Club; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Howard's enduring union remains a 
source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom 
they have shared the richness of their lives, and this devoted 
couple are most deserving of warmest congratulations; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Samuel and Lora Jean Howard on 
their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best 
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Howard as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
