R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The passing of Major Leo Telchik, Sr., U.S. Army
(Ret.), of Houston, on August 5, 2004, has brought a great loss to
his family and friends; and
WHEREAS, A respected resident of Spring Branch for many
years, Major Telchik served proudly in the U.S. Army during World
War II and the Korean War; after retiring from the army, he was
employed by Glidden Electronics for 20 years; and
WHEREAS, The devoted patriarch of a loving family, he was
married to Mary E. Telchik, with whom he shared a close and
fulfilling relationship, and he cherished each of his children, his
five daughters and his son, as well as his 12 grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Leo Telchik lived a full and productive life, and
although he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the
hearts of those who were privileged to have shared his love and
friendship; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Leo Telchik, Sr., and
that deepest sympathy be extended to the members of his family: to
his wife, Mary E. Telchik; to his daughters, Kathy Beaver and her
husband, Tommy, Martha Graham and her husband, Greg, Rebecca
Winfree and her husband, Andy, Susan Telchik, and Dorothy Russell
and her husband, Stephen; to his son, Leo Telchik, Jr., and his
wife, Marilou; to his 12 grandchildren; to his two sisters; and to
the other relatives and friends of this esteemed man; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Major Leo
Telchik, Sr.
