R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a momentous event in
the lives of two people, and on November 7, 2004, Frank and Kathie
Wiley of Lamesa celebrated this golden milestone with a luncheon
hosted by their family; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Wiley married the former Kathleen Martin on
November 8, 1954, and since that time, they have been blessed with
three children, Valorie Slatton, Kenneth Wiley, and Catherine
Johnson, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, Native West Texans and respected members of the
Lamesa community, Mr. and Mrs. Wiley have owned Wiley Food Store
since 1986, and are members of Crestview Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, This devoted couple have shared an enduring union
filled with many happy times and cherished family memories, and it
is a pleasure to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Frank and Kathie Wiley on the joyous
occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Wileys as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
