R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Gary and Rene Laughlin marked a special milestone in 
their lives on January 28, 2005, when they celebrated their golden 
wedding anniversary with a trip to San Antonio; and
	WHEREAS, United in matrimony on January 28, 1955, in Roaring 
Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Laughlin have been blessed with two sons, Jay 
and his wife, Debbie, and Reny and his wife, Teresa; moreover, they 
have shared in the joy of having seven grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Laughlin retired from banking in 2000, and Mrs. 
Laughlin has been a bookkeeper with Giebel Petroleum for 24 years; 
they are both valued members of the community and congregants at the 
Alamo Heights Baptist Church; and
	WHEREAS, For more than half a century, this devoted couple 
have nurtured a strong bond of love, filling each other's lives with 
many happy times and cherished family memories, and it is a pleasure 
to join in honoring them at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Gary and Rene Laughlin on their 
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Laughlin as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
