                                                                  H.R. No. 406



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Richard M. "Dick" and Mary Pemberton of Midland 
marked a special milestone in their lives on December 24, 2004, when 
they celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary; and
	WHEREAS, United in matrimony on December 24, 1929, in 
Muskogee, Oklahoma, Mr. and Mrs. Pemberton have been blessed with 
two sons, Richard Dan Pemberton and Donald Max Pemberton; moreover, 
they have shared in the joy of having many grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pemberton lived in Oklahoma and 
Illinois before moving to Midland in 2000 to be near their son; in 
1929, Mr. Pemberton was a pitcher for the Muskogee Reds, a farm team 
for the Cincinnati Reds, and he retired from Pure 
Transportation/Unocal; Mrs. Pemberton was a homemaker and 
secretary; and
	WHEREAS, For more than 75 years, this devoted couple have 
nurtured a strong bond of love, filling each other's lives with many 
happy times and cherished family memories, and it is a pleasure to 
join in honoring them at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Richard M. and Mary Pemberton on 
their 75th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best 
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Pemberton as an expression of high regard 
by the Texas House of Representatives.
