R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary is truly cause for
celebration, and on January 6, 2005, Alex and Ila Ewing of Midland
marked this momentous occasion; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ewing and the former Ila Faye Reid were married
at the Church of Christ in Hollis, Oklahoma, on January 6, 1945, and
are blessed with a family that includes four children, Ann Foster,
Alexis Marler, Steele Ewing, and Nancy Carlton, as well as six
grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ewing is a homemaker who continues to care
lovingly for her family and home, and Mr. Ewing is retired after
having worked for Exxon Co. USA for 32 years; and
WHEREAS, The Ewings share an enduring union that remains a
source of inspiration and joy to the family and friends with whom
they have shared their lives, and it is a pleasure to honor them at
this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Alex and Ila Ewing on the special
occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ewing as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
