R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Clarence and Mary Johnson of Midland celebrated a 
remarkable 50 years together on December 29, 2004, and a reception 
for the couple in Odessa on that day offered family and friends a 
fitting opportunity to honor this beloved couple; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson and the former Mary Bell were married in 
Sinton on December 29, 1954; over the years, they have welcomed two 
children, Omega Chew and Shawn Edgerton, and two grandchildren into 
their close-knit family; and
	WHEREAS, Both Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are retired teachers with 
Midland Independent School District and members of Mount Calvary 
Missionary Baptist Church; Mrs. Johnson also devotes her time to 
volunteer work with the Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; and
	WHEREAS, For half a century, the Johnsons have found 
strength, love, and companionship in their union, and their 
steadfast commitment to each other is a source of tremendous joy and 
inspiration to all who are privileged to know them; now, therefore, 
be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Clarence and Mary Johnson on their 
golden anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for 
continued happiness together; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Johnson as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
