R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Robert and Leota Birth of Midland celebrated a
milestone in their lives together with the arrival of their 60th
wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, The loving couple were married in Edmond, Oklahoma,
on December 30, 1944, and continue to cherish each other and their
adoring family: their two sons, Jim and Robert, four grandchildren,
and two great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Birth is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in
World War II, including a stint on the USS Ormsby as a signalman
second class; he and his wife moved to Midland in 1952 and the
following year established Permian Sign Company, where they worked
until their retirement in 1980; and
WHEREAS, For six decades, Mr. and Mrs. Birth have nurtured a
supportive relationship built on mutual devotion and respect, and
their enduring union remains an inspiration to all those who have
shared in its joy; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 60th wedding anniversary of
Robert and Leota Birth and congratulate them on this joyous
occasion; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Birth as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
