R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, In commemoration of their 50th wedding anniversary
on November 11, 2004, Sanford and Patsy Boardman of Lamesa
celebrated with a family dinner hosted by their son and
granddaughters and a nine-day trip to Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Dawson County, the former Patsy
Patterson graduated from Lamesa High School in 1954 and worked for
many years painting photographs for photographers; Mr. Boardman was
born in Coleman and moved with his family to Lamesa at the age of
two; also an alumnus of Lamesa High School, he joined the U.S. Air
Force after his graduation in 1950 and served in the military for
three years before returning home to farm; and
WHEREAS, Since their marriage at Second Baptist Church in
Lamesa on November 11, 1954, Mr. and Mrs. Boardman have welcomed a
son, Mark Boardman, and two granddaughters, Jenny and Michelle
Boardman, into their close-knit family; the Boardmans are currently
members of the First Baptist Church of Lamesa; and
WHEREAS, For five decades, this devoted couple have enjoyed a
rich and rewarding life together, and their enduring union is a
source of tremendous pride and inspiration to their many friends
and loved ones; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Sanford and Patsy Boardman on their
golden anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness together; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Boardman as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
