R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Ashley Kulialeilani Lovell
on August 3, 2004, at the age of 26, brought tremendous sadness to
the many people who cherished her; and
WHEREAS, Born in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii, on February 8, 1978,
Ms. Lovell moved with her family to Arizona 17 years ago and
graduated from Xavier College Preparatory in 1996; she attended
Texas Christian University, where she was a cheerleader, and
graduated from Arizona State University in 2001; she was a valued
member of Scottsdale Bible Church and had participated in its youth
group from the age of nine; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Lovell was a source of great joy to her family
and friends, and her spirit will long endure in the hearts of those
whose lives she touched; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ashley Kulialeilani
Lovell and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
her parents, Byron and Mary Lovell and Julie and Reid Wells; to her
brother, Chance K. Nakoa Lovell; to her grandparents, Alyeen Chance
and Abraham Lovell; to her boyfriend, Ryan McGuire; and to her other
relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the members of her family and that when the Texas House
of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ashley
Kulialeilani Lovell.
