R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sharon Boyd, chair of the Bradford Estates Crime Watch and Homeowners Association in Dallas, is making important contributions to the community of Northwest Dallas; and WHEREAS, Ms. Boyd's commitment to serving her neighbors began when she joined the Oak Lawn Committee to preserve the residential streets of the Oak Lawn area, while promoting new developments; she chaired her neighborhood association, Oak Lawn Place, now Mansion Park, from 1976 until she moved to Northwest Dallas in 2001; and WHEREAS, After moving, she joined the area's neighborhood crime watch group and the Bachman Northwest Highway Community Association; she has worked successfully to promote progress and to inhibit the intrusion of unsavory businesses into Northwest Dallas; she was recently appointed to the Northwest Highway Land Use Study, and she represents Dallas City Councilman Steve Salazar as a member of the Coalition for Open Government; and WHEREAS, Sharon Boyd's unfaltering dedication to providing the citizens of Dallas with information about their community and her efforts to promote a safe environment for families and businesses alike certainly merit special praise; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby honor Sharon Boyd for her efforts in behalf of the residents of Dallas and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Boyd as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
