R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments console and comfort the family and friends of Luz F. Rodriguez of Socorro, who passed away on January 10, 2005, at the age of 98; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Rodriguez was a lifelong resident of Socorro and a devout member of the Catholic Church; the matriarch of a large family, she played a positive role in the lives of numerous family members and friends, with whom she shared the experiences and wisdom she garnered over the course of a life that spanned nearly a century; and WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the memory of this esteemed Texan will not soon be forgotten, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Luz F. Rodriguez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her sons, Ernesto Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez and his wife, Maria Luisa, Antonio Rodriguez and his wife, Elida, Jose Rodriguez, Alfredo Rodriguez, and Raymundo Rodriguez and his wife, Linda; to her daughters, Amalia Salcido, Cecilia Borunda, Angelina Saucedo and her husband, Daniel, and Gloria Walker and her husband, Richard; to her 44 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great-grandchildren; to her brother, Alfonso Fresquez; and to her sister, Emma Contreras; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Luz F. Rodriguez.
