H.R. No. 445
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends deeply mourn the passing of
Viviana Lopez of Clint on November 12, 2004, and seek to still the
pain of loss by remembering her strength, courage, and love; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Clint, Mrs. Lopez married the
love of her life, Manuel, with whom she shared 70 wonderful years;
the pair were blessed with six children, 16 grandchildren, and 11
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, In addition to her duties as wife and mother, this
notable woman retired as officer in charge from the U.S. Postal
Service after a 27-year career, and she had worked as a teacher's
aide for the Clint Head Start Program; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Lopez was continually nurtured by her solid
religious faith and was an esteemed member of San Lorenzo Catholic
Church, where she earned the lasting respect and admiration of her
fellow parishioners; and
WHEREAS, In serving her family, her church, and her
community, Viviana Lopez gave generously to those around her and
left a legacy of love and compassion by which to remember her;
although her presence is gone from us now, her spirit will live on
in the hearts of the many people who were fortunate to know her;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Viviana Lopez and
extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her
husband, Manuel Lopez; to her sons and daughters-in-law, Raul Lopez
and his wife, Sophie, Gustavo Lopez and his wife, Guadalupe, Manny
Lopez and his wife, Cathy, Armando Lopez and his wife, Becky, and
Jaime Lopez; to her grandchildren, Chris and Craig Lopez, Kathy
Sanchez, Cynthia Pacheco, Gustavo Lopez, Jr., Javier Lopez, Karina
Lopez, Henry De La Torre, Richard and David Lopez, Vivian Appleby,
and Danny, Dee Dee, Violet, Hope, and Leila Lopez; to her
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild; and to the other
family members and many friends of this much-loved woman; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Viviana
Lopez.
