No. 458R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Susan Elizabeth Fisher, a senior at Southwestern University, has earned the university's Outstanding Accounting Student Award, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on her many accomplishments; and WHEREAS, Throughout her impressive college career, Ms. Fisher has maintained a 3.85 grade point average and has participated in numerous extracurricular activities, including the Southwestern University Chorale, the Delta Omicron Music Fraternity, which she served as scholarship chairperson, and the Alpha Xi Delta National Women's Fraternity, which she served as financial vice president, public relations vice president, and song leader; and WHEREAS, This notable Texas student has a double major in accounting and Spanish, a language she speaks fluently; as a result of her exceptional efforts, she has earned the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship, the Southwestern University Merit Scholarship, and the Southwestern University President's Scholarship, to name but a few of her prestigious honors; and WHEREAS, In addition to her studies, Ms. Fisher has been an administrative aide at the State Capitol, working for Representative Joe Deshotel since 2001, and she also works as a pianist; and WHEREAS, A young woman of incredible talent and ability, Susan Fisher has demonstrated outstanding initiative and determination to succeed, and it is most fitting that she be recognized for her achievements; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Susan Elizabeth Fisher on receiving the 2005 Southwestern University Outstanding Accounting Student Award and extend to her best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Fisher as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
