H.R. No. 461
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The San Benito High School football team achieved an
impressive level of success on the gridiron during the 2004 season,
giving their fans many exciting moments and lasting memories; and
WHEREAS, After charging through the school's first
undefeated regular football season in more than 40 years, the
Greyhounds claimed the District 32-5A championship and reached the
quarterfinal round of the Class 5A, Division II, playoffs; and
WHEREAS, Head Coach Mario Pena ably schooled his charges in
the finer points of football, while instilling in them the
important values of hard work, dedication, and good sportsmanship;
and
WHEREAS, The San Benito football squad members are a source
of tremendous pride to their school and all their many loyal fans in
the community, and they may take great pride in the year's notable
accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the San Benito Greyhound football
team and Head Coach Mario Pena on an outstanding 2004 season and
extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
