R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A century of living is indeed a special reason for 
celebration, and on February 20, 2005, Ouida Jane Boyd Wall of 
Carthage marks the singular event of her 100th birthday; and
	WHEREAS, Born on February 20, 1905, in scenic Panola County, 
she has remained a lifelong resident of her native East Texas county 
and has been a valued congregant of the Macedonia Baptist Church in 
Carthage since childhood; and
	WHEREAS, This lovely lady married William Emory Wall on May 
16, 1924, in Carthage, and with him enjoyed a rewarding marriage for 
more than half a century, until his passing; Mrs. Wall still lives 
in the house where she and her husband raised their children, and 
today she is the beloved matriarch of a cherished family that 
includes two children, seven grandchildren, 19 
great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, The birthday of Ouida Wall provides a fitting 
opportunity to honor this delightful Texan, whose kindness and 
friendship have touched and brightened the lives of so many people; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby warmly congratulate Ouida Jane Boyd Wall on the 
joyous occasion of her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere best 
wishes for continued happiness and good fortune; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mrs. Wall as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
