R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, January 23, 2005, was truly a special day for William Robert Granberry and Susan Mattiza Granberry of Midland, for on that date they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, marking a milestone in their long and happy union; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Granberry have been blessed with two daughters, Kimberly Ann, who is married to Jeffrey Altizer, and Lynn Barrett, the wife of Jeffrey Keith Alsup; the Granberrys have also shared the joy of becoming grandparents as their family has grown to include their precious grandchildren, Anne Barrett, Benjamin Robert, Katherine Lynn, Clare Katiana, and Anna Josephine; and WHEREAS, A native of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Granberry graduated from Ray High School and earned her bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin; this former high school Spanish teacher has been a longtime homemaker, nurturing the couple's close-knit family with warmth and devotion; and WHEREAS, Mr. Granberry also graduated from Ray High School and attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in petroleum engineering; currently a partner in Compass Operating, he has previously served distinguished tenures with Standard Oil Company and Tom Brown, Inc.; and WHEREAS, Respected residents of the Midland community, William and Susan Granberry may indeed reflect with pride on the four decades they have shared together and look with anticipation and joy toward the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby honor William Robert Granberry and Susan Mattiza Granberry on their 40th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Granberry as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
