R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends deeply mourn the passing of Santos L. Fernandez of Denver Harbor, who died on February 8, 2005, and seek to still the pain of loss by remembering the joyful times and loving moments that they shared; and WHEREAS, Born on April 6, 1912, in Altair, Mr. Fernandez retired from the City of Houston after 25 years of distinguished service; a lifelong resident of Denver Harbor, he was a valued member of the community and devoted congregant at Resurrection Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well-lived may temper the sadness that his death brings, and his memory will be forever cherished by those who loved him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Santos L. Fernandez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of 67 years, Paula Fernandez; to his daughters, Consuelo Solis and Dolores Zermeno and her husband, Roy; to his son, John Fernandez, Jr.; to his 12 grandchildren; to his numerous great-grandchildren; to his two brothers and two sisters; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Santos L. Fernandez.
