R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Communities In Schools-Cameron County, Inc., is celebrating its 10th anniversary on March 10, 2005; and WHEREAS, Understanding that many students will greatly benefit from personalized attention within the school setting, Communities In Schools is dedicated to providing at-risk students with a positive support system that will instill in them the life skills needed to focus their energies on academics and become productive members of society; and WHEREAS, To that end, the organization coordinates community resources and brings them into the schools to help young people learn, stay in school, and prepare for a successful future; by offering guidance and counseling, health and human services information, pre-employment and employment training, enrichment activities, education enhancement, and more, Communities In Schools has made a positive difference in the lives of countless Texans; and WHEREAS, The dedicated staff and volunteers associated with Communities In Schools-Cameron County, Inc., have helped many students gain greater confidence and self-esteem as they pursue their education, and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize these caring individuals for their important work and achievements; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate all those associated with Communities In Schools-Cameron County, Inc., on the occasion of the organization's 10th anniversary and commend them for their commitment to the youth of their community; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
