R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Lauri Morrison Perry completed the 108th running of 
the Boston Marathon on April 19, 2004, with an official time of 
4:28:36; and
	WHEREAS, This grueling annual event is a rite of passage for 
marathon runners throughout the world, and Mrs. Perry joins an 
elite group of individuals who have met the challenges of this race; 
and
	WHEREAS, Mrs. Perry's net time of 4:17:44, which is 
calculated from the time she reached the starting line to the time 
she crossed the finish line, represents a significant 
accomplishment in light of the near-record high temperatures that 
punished the race's 20,000-plus runners; and
	WHEREAS, Overcoming this endurance test is a true testament 
to the character and stamina of this noteworthy runner, and it is a 
pleasure to congratulate her on her momentous achievement; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Lauri Morrison Perry on completing 
the prestigious Boston Marathon and extend to her best wishes for 
continued success in future events; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mrs. Perry as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
