R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, September 17, 2004, was truly a special day for Jacksonville residents Afton Lynn Smith and Jeremy Grant Barber as they exchanged wedding vows and embarked on a new life together as husband and wife; and WHEREAS, Surrounded by friends and family, the loving pair were wed at the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville with Dr. Jack Albright, the Reverend Kevin King, and Dr. Tom Kennedy officiating; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Glenn and Dianna Smith, the bride is a 2003 graduate of Southern Methodist University; Mr. Barber, the son of Craig and Lana Barber, graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University and is presently employed by PBS&J in Tyler; and WHEREAS, The wedding of these devoted young Texans marked a profound deepening of a relationship that has grown in love, respect, and mutual regard with each passing day, and it is indeed appropriate that they be congratulated on this milestone in their lives; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby honor Afton Lynn Smith and Jeremy Grant Barber on the memorable occasion of their nuptials and extend to them sincere best wishes for a long and happy marriage; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Barber as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
