R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times, loving moments, and meaningful accomplishments may console the family and friends of Oscar Jesus Sanchez of Dallas, who died on January 27, 2005, at the age of 30; and WHEREAS, The beloved son of Rosa Laura and the late Oscar Guadalupe Sanchez, Mr. Sanchez was born in Dallas on October 14, 1974; a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, where he excelled as a music major in jazz guitar, he earned his bachelor's degree in economics from The University of Texas at Austin in 1997; and WHEREAS, Mr. Sanchez was a highly regarded businessman who helped to manage his family's Dallas restaurants, La Calle Doce and El Ranchito, and he contributed greatly to the success of the business with his intelligence, insight, and charm; and WHEREAS, A forum member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, he also lent his time and talents to the Texas Restaurant Association, Restauranteros Latinos de Dallas, and the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, Always putting his family first, Mr. Sanchez was a loving and supportive husband of his wife, Theresa, and he took tremendous pride in their newborn daughter, Helena Marie; and WHEREAS, A man of many interests, from the Dallas Cowboys to jazz and other music, Mr. Sanchez was known for his amiable nature, his hearty laugh, and his ability to make others feel special; although his time on this earth was too short, his memory will be cherished by all who loved him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Oscar Jesus Sanchez and extend deep sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Theresa Coty Sanchez; to his daughter, Helena Marie Sanchez; to his mother, Laura Sanchez; to his grandmother, Natalia Varela; to his sister, Silka Sanchez; to his half-brother, Mario Sanchez; to his aunts and uncles, Jesus, Juan, and Natalia Sanchez, and Alma Rubio; and to his other family members and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Oscar Jesus Sanchez.
