R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lisa and Major Jason Barnett of Fort Bliss have
generously welcomed five orphaned children into their hearts and
their home, turning their loving brood into a happy family of nine
going on 10; and
WHEREAS, Major Barnett is the deputy commanding officer of
the 6th Brigade and lives on post with his wife and their two
biological children and five adopted children; the couple is also
in the process of adopting an eighth child, Gilyana Chimidova, an
eight-year-old girl from Ivanovo, Russia, whom they met during the
holidays when she visited the United States through the Hand in Hand
International Adoptions program; and
WHEREAS, The Barnetts adopted their first child, Manny, 14
years ago, and soon after, they became the parents of four siblings,
adopted together, Danyelle, Josh, Rebekah, and Seth; Reena and
Isabelle, the couple's biological children, enjoy the company of
such a large, loving family and the abundance of affection they
receive from their siblings; and
WHEREAS, Through their selfless actions, the Barnetts have
gained immeasurable joy, while providing each of their loved ones
with the kindness, affection, and attention they need to thrive;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lisa and Major Jason Barnett on
their beautiful family and commend them for their inspirational
humanitarianism; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the Barnett family as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
