R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On March 8, 2005, residents from the town of Little
Elm are gathering in Austin to celebrate Little Elm Day at the State
Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Located along the northeastern banks of beautiful
Lake Lewisville and providing easy access to recreational and water
activities, Little Elm was incorporated in 1966 and adopted its
home rule charter in May 2001; and
WHEREAS, The community boasts excellent public schools in
both the Frisco Independent School District and the Little Elm
Independent School District, which is adding new schools to serve
the area's growing population; and
WHEREAS, A vibrant and rapidly growing town, Little Elm has
increased in population by an astounding 384 percent within the
past four years, making it one of the fastest-growing communities
in the state; and
WHEREAS, Little Elm is a prosperous, forward-looking
community, and its residents are justifiably proud of their town
and of the many unique qualities that make it an outstanding place
in which to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize March 8, 2005, as Little Elm Day at the
State Capitol and extend to its citizens warmest best wishes for a
memorable and enjoyable visit.
