R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Tamra Brown of San Angelo has been named one of the
top youth volunteers in Texas for 2005 and a Distinguished Finalist
by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program; and
WHEREAS, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
constitute America's largest youth recognition program based
solely on volunteerism; its purpose is not only to praise
outstanding youth, but also to emphasize the importance of service
to others, and to encourage young people to give back to their
communities; and
WHEREAS, Chosen from a pool of more than 20,000 young
Americans, Ms. Brown, a senior at Miles High School, was honored for
her important work with a Christmas food, clothing, and toy drive
she successfully organized and implemented; and
WHEREAS, A tremendous source of pride to her family, school,
and community, this notable young Texan embodies the most admirable
qualities of the human spirit, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor
her at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Tamra Brown on being named a
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Distinguished Finalist and
commend her for her service in behalf of her fellow Texans; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
