R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of William Frederick Kennedy, Sr., of Dallas, who died on October 24, 2004, at the age of 86; and WHEREAS, Born on June 4, 1918, this notable Texan bravely served his country with the United States Air Force during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge; and WHEREAS, Mr. Kennedy was a valuable member of his community and greatly enriched a host of local organizations through his involvement; a 33rd Degree Mason and Deputy of the Desert of Texas Emeritus, he was active with the Cherubim Lodge No. 237, the Royal Arch Mason Mystic Tie No. 3, Knights Templar Commandery Trinity No. 3, Dale Consistory No. 31, Zakat Temple No. 164, American Legion Post No. 802, and The Woodman Banner Camp No. 90; moreover, he was a faithful member of True Lee Missionary Baptist Church; and WHEREAS, William Kennedy will long be remembered for his love of family and community, and although he is greatly missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he so richly blessed with his friendship; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of William Frederick Kennedy, Sr., and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his children, William Kennedy, Jr., Brenda K. Gray, and Linda E. Mooney; to his six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of William Frederick Kennedy, Sr.
