R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Rosa Werchan Wuthrich of Taylor is celebrating her
100th birthday on March 2, 2005, and this occasion offers a fitting
opportunity to recognize this esteemed Texan; and
WHEREAS, Born on Texas Independence Day, March 2, 1905, Mrs.
Wuthrich demonstrates her own independence by continuing to live on
the Taylor farm that she and her husband, Albert, diligently worked
for so many years; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Wuthrich and her husband were strong supporters
of the Republican Party in Williamson County, and she follows
local, state, and national elections with great interest; and
WHEREAS, A gifted cook known for her German-style fare and
her famous angel food cake, Mrs. Wuthrich still enjoys a good game
of dominoes; other favorite interests include travel, fishing,
gardening, and genealogy; and
WHEREAS, On March 5, 2005, Mrs. Wuthrich will be joined by
family and friends at an open house at the Fellowship Hall of St.
Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor; the event, hosted by her four
nephews and their families, will undoubtedly be an appropriate
tribute to this wonderful and beloved woman; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Rosa Werchan Wuthrich on her 100th
birthday and extend best wishes to her for a joyous and memorable
celebration; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mrs. Wuthrich as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
