R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Felix R. Barrera, Jr., were deeply saddened by the passing of this esteemed gentleman on November 15, 2004; and WHEREAS, Born on September 16, 1940, in Del Rio, Mr. Barrera served with distinction in the U.S. Army; he graduated from Southwest Texas Junior College with an associate in arts degree on May 16, 1974, and received his bachelor's degree on December 19, 1980; and WHEREAS, Mr. Barrera was a law enforcement officer who retired on July 19, 2004, from the Del Rio Police Department as a lieutenant after 37 years of devoted service to the community; and WHEREAS, Although he is profoundly missed by family and friends, his memory shines brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, and he will not be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Felix R. Barrera, Jr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Leticia Perez Barrera; to his three daughters, Laura B. Espinoza, and her husband, Carlos, Gina B. Rodriguez, and Valerie B. Reyes, and her husband, Juan; to his grandchildren, Clarissa Espinoza, Felix and Monique Rodriguez, Isabel Candela, and Miguel Reyes; to his parents, Felix Barrera, Sr., and Natalia R. Barrera; to his brothers, Jim Bob Barrera, Roy Bean Barrera, Jose Luis Barrera, and Arturo Barrera; to his sisters, Ernestina Barrera and Elizabeth Trevino; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Felix R.
