R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, 4-H is one of the state's premier youth organizations, and the 4-H members from Henderson County are among the active participants visiting the State Capitol on March 8, 2005; and WHEREAS, The Henderson chapter includes 14 community clubs, two project clubs, and more than 290 youth members who have the opportunity to participate in fun and enriching opportunities, such as the Annual Spring Rendezvous, the Henderson County Livestock Show Petting Barn, and various YMCA programs; and WHEREAS, Henderson 4-H members have taken part in the second year of the Quality Counts program and continue to learn and develop skills to provide safer and higher quality meat products to the market; and WHEREAS, The extraordinary success of Henderson County 4-H owes much to the service of its volunteers, who have given generously of their time, talents, energies, and resources to benefit Texas youth; and WHEREAS, During the past year, members and volunteers have supported a variety of community service projects, assisting with Purtis Creek State Park's Kid Fish Day, the Uncle Fletcher's Hamburger Cookoff, Salvation Army donation collection, Cards for Troops, the Food Pantry, and the Rainbow Room; moreover, these compassionate individuals are currently helping to make peritoneal dialysis pouches for diabetic patients; and WHEREAS, Motivating youth in a productive manner is vital to creating a brighter future for all Texans; the 4-H program of Henderson County has achieved outstanding success in this regard, and it is a pleasure to honor the members of this exemplary organization as they celebrate 4-H Day at the State Capitol; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commend Henderson County 4-H and extend a warm welcome to its members on the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the members of Henderson County 4-H as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
