R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The officers, NCOs, and soldiers of the 3rd 
Battalion 141st Infantry are being honored in a mobilization 
ceremony on March 6, 2005, at the Veterans War Memorial of Texas in 
McAllen; and
	WHEREAS, The Valley Battalion is preparing for deployment to 
support Operation Enduring Freedom, in which they will assist in 
the reconstruction of Afghanistan; and
	WHEREAS, This troop joins other Texas army personnel who have 
been assigned to this operation, including those from Fort Hood, 
Fort Bliss, Fort Sam Houston, Dyess Air Force Base, and Lackland Air 
Force Base, as well as members of National Guard and reserve units 
throughout the state; and
	WHEREAS, American citizens owe an immeasurable debt to their 
military personnel, whose efforts have secured this nation's 
treasured liberties and made it the greatest country in the world; 
and
	WHEREAS, At this time of mobilization, we recognize these men 
and women and their families for the tremendous sacrifices they 
make in behalf of their country, and we encourage the communities in 
which they live to offer them understanding and support during this 
hour of world concern; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby wish Godspeed to the members of the 3rd 
Battalion 141st Infantry on the occasion of their deployment with 
Operation Enduring Freedom and offer its prayers for their safe 
return.
