R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Kelly Jordan of Mineola won the 2005 Wal-Mart FLW 
Tour bass tournament season opener held on Lake Okeechobee, 
Florida, in January; and
	WHEREAS, In addition to earning the respect of his fellow 
anglers, this three-time Bassmaster Tour winner and Bassmaster 
Classic qualifier was awarded $100,000 for his impressive showing, 
the first winner's check of the tour's 10th anniversary season; and
	WHEREAS, Amidst inclement weather and less than ideal fishing 
conditions, Mr. Jordan entered the tournament strongly; ranked 
sixth out of the 10 remaining contestants on the last day of 
fishing, and with only two hours left before the final weigh-in, he 
targeted a floating bog covered in cattails, and while the spot 
proved a chore to maneuver, his risk paid off handsomely: in only 30 
minutes, he had hooked four bass, with the collective weight of 23 
pounds, pushing his two-day weight to a winning 30 pounds, 13 
ounces; and
	WHEREAS, Winning a bass tournament is an exciting 
accomplishment and one in which this notable Texan may take great 
pride; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Kelly Jordan on winning the 
Wal-Mart FLW Tour season opener and extend to him sincere best 
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Jordan as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
