R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Virginia Vaughan has been posthumously awarded the 
Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award by the mayor of Alice, 
and her selection for this tribute provides a fitting opportunity 
to acknowledge her impressive commitment to her fellow Texans; and
	WHEREAS, A supporter of bettering the quality of life for the 
families of Alice and the region, Ms. Vaughan selflessly gave of her 
time and energy in support of an array of worthy endeavors; and
	WHEREAS, Her lasting contributions include her promotion of 
the city's beautification projects and the establishment of a 
recycling center; and
	WHEREAS, This forward-thinking Texan demonstrated an 
unwavering dedication to her community and its environment, and it 
is a privilege to join in remembering her legacy of achievement; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby pay special tribute to the memory of Virginia 
Vaughan on the occasion of the presentation in her honor of a Martin 
Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award from the office of the mayor of 
Alice.
