R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Respected community leader Newell W. Atkinson III of 
Alice has been presented a Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian 
Award by the mayor of Alice; and
	WHEREAS, Committed to helping those in need, Mr. Atkinson is 
generous with his time and talents, and his accomplishments help to 
make Alice a better place to live, work, and raise a family; and
	WHEREAS, Actively involved in a number of fund-raising 
efforts for worthy organizations, Newell Atkinson sets an inspiring 
example for all concerned citizens, and it is indeed appropriate 
that he be recognized for his exceptional service in behalf of 
others; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby congratulate Newell W. Atkinson III on his 
receipt of a Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award from the 
office of the mayor of Alice and extend to him sincere best wishes 
for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Atkinson as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
