R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Celia Barrera, an active and caring volunteer, has been presented a Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award by the mayor of Alice; and WHEREAS, Ms. Barrera has given many years of service with the Ladies Auxiliary Club of Alice, and she volunteers at the REAL center for elderly and disabled people; and WHEREAS, Having learned from her parents to help others, she devotes much time to assisting people who need a helping hand, taking them to the doctor, being sure they have necessary medicine, and providing whatever aid she can to make the lives of others happier and more comfortable; and WHEREAS, Celia Barrera is a blessing in the lives of many Alice residents, and it is truly appropriate to honor this admirable woman for her unwavering dedication to her community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Celia Barrera on her receipt of a Martin Luther King, Jr., Humanitarian Award from the office of the mayor of Alice and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Barrera as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
