R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Texas Lyceum Association, an organization that 
exists to identify and develop emerging young leaders and to foster 
a sense of stewardship for the values, traditions, and resources of 
Texas, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2005; and
	WHEREAS, Established in Dallas in 1980, the lyceum is 
composed of 96 men and women under the age of 46 who have 
demonstrated leadership not only in their own communities but 
across the state; these individuals collectively make up the 
lyceum's board of directors; and
	WHEREAS, Through programs for its members, the sponsorship of 
periodic public forums, and the publication of a journal, the 
lyceum brings together diverse opinions and expertise and seeks to 
emphasize constructive private sector, public sector, and 
individual responses to important state and national issues; and
	WHEREAS, The directors of the lyceum are engaged in a serious 
exploration of major social, economic, and political currents 
affecting Texas and are eager to contribute their talents and time 
to the betterment of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby recognize the Texas Lyceum Association on the 
occasion of its 25th anniversary and extend to all those associated 
with the lyceum sincere best wishes for continued success.
