R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, John and Evelyn Box of Bryan are celebrating two exciting events this month: their 59th wedding anniversary on March 10, 2005, and Mr. Box's 91st birthday on March 11, 2005; and WHEREAS, The devoted couple met at Fort Drum in Pine Camp, New York, shortly before Mr. Box went overseas to serve his country in World War II; in 1946, after his return from the war, they were married and relocated to his hometown, Centerville; eventually they moved to Lubbock, where Mr. Box worked for the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station for more than eight years; in January 1957, they settled in Bryan, where he worked as an extension specialist at Texas A&M until his retirement 20 years later; and WHEREAS, Blessed with four children, Josh, Carolyn, Gail, and James, Mr. and Mrs. Box have enjoyed nearly 60 years of a lasting partnership built on love, trust, and mutual respect, and they are an inspiration to all those who are fortunate enough to know them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate John and Evelyn Box on their 59th wedding anniversary and his 91st birthday and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
