H.R. No. 688


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends deeply mourn the passing of Juiping H. Chu of Houston on January 31, 2005, and seek to still the pain of loss by remembering her strength, courage, and love; and WHEREAS, Born on May 15, 1915, in Shui Hou Village, Toi Shan County, Canton Province, China, Mrs. Chu spent many years living overseas in Hong Kong, Macau, and Burma; although she endured tremendous personal loss and hardship during World War II, Mrs. Chu retained her love for her fellowman and compassion for the needy; in 1973, she experienced great joy when she was reunited with her children and grandchildren in the United States; and WHEREAS, This beloved mother and grandmother resided in Houston for 32 years, where she showered her loved ones with affection and attention; whether walking to her son's store, praying with her neighbor, or indulging young friends with sweets, Mrs. Chu brightened the lives of those around her, and her memory will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Juiping H. Chu and extend sincere sympathy to her children, Bill and Ivy Chu, to her grandchildren, and to all her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Juiping H.
