R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of Girl Scout Troop 2115 are visiting the State Capitol on March 21, 2005, and this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize this notable group of young Texans; and WHEREAS, A truly outstanding organization, Girl Scouts of America seeks to give its participants learning experiences that promote the development of strong leadership skills and civic responsibility; and WHEREAS, Young women who are influenced by scouting will one day be managing corporations, leading the country, and raising tomorrow's children, and Girl Scouts plays a vital role in equipping young women for their futures; and WHEREAS, Ably led by Valerie Hodges and Christene Wheeler, members of Troop 2115 include Callie Hodges, Caitlyn Wheeler, Chelsie Wheeler, Hayley Spencer, Taylor Spencer, Taylor McDermott, Jill Bietendorf, Jessica LaPorte, Breyanna Thornton, Ashley Pfiefer, Ashley Redwine, Krysta Hornbeck, and Caitlyn Cox; and WHEREAS, The historic Capitol, with its impressive rotunda and distinctive pink granite facade, is an ideal setting for young and old alike to discover the rich heritage that is Texas and to gain insight into the workings of our state legislature, and the members of this chamber are pleased to recognize the members of Troop 2115 on their visit to Austin; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby welcome the members of Girl Scout Troop 2115 on their visit to the State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for future success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
