H.R. No. 720
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The relationship between a modern commercial
enterprise and the city in which it does business carries with it
both great responsibility and great potential for positive effect;
and
WHEREAS, The mutually beneficial association between the
H-E-B chain of grocery stores and Rio Grande City is a sterling
example of what can be achieved by an involved corporate citizen and
a responsive community; and
WHEREAS, Throughout its proud century-long history, H-E-B
has been known for its commitment to the greater good, and the chain
has underwritten scholarships for deserving Rio Grande Valley youth
and has contributed badly needed funds and resources to schools
through its Excellence in Education awards and Trees for Texas
initiative; and
WHEREAS, This commitment is evident in the chain's relations
with the civic leaders of Rio Grande City, and all those who have
worked to foster these bonds can take justifiable pride in the
results they have achieved; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor H-E-B in Rio Grande City for its
outstanding corporate citizenship and extend to all its employees
and management sincere wishes for continued success.
