R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Four decades of marriage is a special reason for celebration, and on January 27, 2005, Carlton "Carty" Evans Beal, Jr., and Lynda Kay Beal of Midland marked this significant milestone in their life together; and WHEREAS, Joined in matrimony on January 27, 1965, at the historic United Methodist Church in Riviera, where beautiful stained glass windows were installed the day before their wedding, Mr. Beal and the former Lynda Kay Nanny have nurtured an inspiring relationship built on a solid foundation of mutual love, trust, and respect; and WHEREAS, The couple have been richly blessed with a cherished family that includes one son, Carlton Evans Beal III, three daughters and sons-in-law, Christina Helen Beal Johnstone and Lance, Helana Beal Pedregon and David, and Lauren Beal Sherry and Brian, and four adored grandchildren, Sarah Kay Johnstone, and Claire Cristina, Rosemary Grace, and Harley Beal Pedregon; and WHEREAS, A Brownsville native, Mrs. Beal grew up in Riviera and graduated from Texas A&I University; a member of the Junior League of Midland since joining in 1969, she enjoys many creative activities, including needlepoint, folk art painting, crafts and collecting, and planning family holidays and vacations and is active in community Bible study; and WHEREAS, Mr. Beal was born in Los Angeles, and moved with his family to Midland as a teenager; he received a petroleum engineering degree from Texas A&I University, was employed with BTA Oil Producers in 1967, and today is chairman of the Beal Foundation; he also participates in community Bible study and enjoys racing cars and riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, and bicycles; a former helicopter pilot, he has also competed with his son in drag racing and the Baja 1000 off-road motorcycle race; and WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Beal have happily shared the trials and triumphs of 40 years of marriage, and it is a distinct pleasure to join in honoring them on the joyous occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby offer warm congratulations to Carlton Evans Beal, Jr., and Lynda Kay Beal and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Beal as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
