H.R. No. 749


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times, loving moments, and meaningful accomplishments comfort the family and friends of Erleen Farris Martin of Lago Vista, who died on December 28, 2004, at the age of 72; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Martin moved from Lubbock to Houston in 1976 and worked with Fireman's Fund Insurance Company for 29 years; in 1989, she settled in Lago Vista and was employed with T.P.C.I.G.A. in Austin until her retirement; and WHEREAS, This valued member of the Lago Vista community made significant contributions to her fellow residents through her active involvement in the Rolling Hills Community Church Choir, Lady Lakers, and Lago Vista Women's Club; and WHEREAS, A devoted wife and caring mother and grandmother, Mrs. Martin played a positive role in the lives of those fortunate enough to have known her, and she will not soon be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Erleen Martin and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Kenneth E. Martin; to her daughters, Brenda Gillham and her husband, Rodney, and Valerie Farris; to her son, Larry Reed-Farris and his wife, Mary; to her stepson, Gary D. Martin; to her brother, Burton Nail and his wife, Judy; to her five grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Erleen Martin.
