R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Westlake High School Advanced Placement Physics program has been named the best program of its kind in the world by the College Board; and WHEREAS, Comparing schools with more than 1,000 students, the College Board bases its findings on the ratio of students who scored three or higher on a scale of five on the AP physics exam to the population of the entire school; and WHEREAS, In 2004, 93 percent of the school's AP physics students received a score of three or higher, and 21 percent of those Texas students who scored a perfect score of five were from Westlake; led by teachers Mark Misage and Dan Harper, the program includes 196 diligent students; and WHEREAS, These hardworking teachers and students are truly an inspiration to their school, their community, and the Eanes Independent School District, and it is a pleasure to honor them for their commitment and dedication to academic excellence; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the students and teachers of Westlake High School's Advanced Placement Physics program and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success and achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the program as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
