H.R. No. 757



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Members of the Wichita Falls Rotary Club are giving 
generously of their time, energy, and money to support the Children 
of the Dump project; and
	WHEREAS, This worthy initiative aims to improve the lives of 
Nicaraguan children whose families' only means of support is from 
selling or recycling items found in the local dump; families are 
offered assistance through home building, education, and donated 
items, as well as vocational training to help them overcome the 
severe poverty in which they live; and
	WHEREAS, To date the Wichita Falls Rotary Club has raised 
more than $30,000 for the project, and members Tom and Linda 
Sheriff, Troy and Jeanie Secord, and Rod Brennan have traveled to 
Nicaragua to assist in this noble endeavor; and
	WHEREAS, These esteemed Texans have inspired residents from 
across the community with their compassion and generosity, adding 
to the outstanding reputation long enjoyed by the Wichita Falls 
Rotary Club for serving the greater good; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature hereby honor the Wichita Falls Rotary Club for its 
contributions to the Children of the Dump project and extend to its 
members best wishes for continued success with their admirable 
humanitarianism; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
