R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Mary Lou Montes Zijderveld of Dallas has long helped to make her community a better place in which to live, work, and raise a family through her exemplary civic service; and WHEREAS, Ms. Zijderveld has shared her energy and expertise as a member of the Trinity River Corridor Committee, as secretary of the Bachman-Northwest Highway Community Association, and as an eminent domain commissioner; and WHEREAS, The Love Field Master Plan, the Northwest Highway Urban Design Study, and the License and Appeal Board of Dallas have all benefited from Ms. Zijderveld's participation, as have the voters of predominately Hispanic precincts in the community, and her exceptional contributions have earned her special recognition from the City of Dallas; and WHEREAS, This notable Texan currently works with the Transportation Safety Administration, and she previously held a distinguished tenure with the Texas Workforce Commission that spanned nearly three decades; moreover, she is a devoted mother and exemplary role model to her daughter, Anneliese, who holds two master's degrees; and WHEREAS, A highly regarded volunteer and civic leader, Mary Zijderveld is a vital and valued member of her community, and her efforts in behalf of her fellow Texans are truly noteworthy; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby commend Mary Lou Montes Zijderveld for her myriad contributions to the Dallas community and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Zijderveld as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
