R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, March 17, 2005, is Women in Longview Day, and this
unique annual event offers local residents and women from
surrounding communities the opportunity to network with each other
in an informative and spirited forum; and
WHEREAS, Featuring exciting seminars and exhibits,
interesting speakers, a style show, a women artists show, and a
luncheon, this year's Women in Longview Day promises topics of
import to everyone, touching on individuals' personal, social, and
economic interests; and
WHEREAS, The goal of this special day is to assess and improve
the status of all women in the Longview area; the group also
promotes March as National Women's History Month and encourages
participants, as well as area schools and worksites, to recognize
the achievements of women and to applaud the myriad ways in which
they serve as role models and leaders in the community; and
WHEREAS, This dynamic occasion will once again spotlight the
many contributions the women of Longview make in the lives of others
each and every day, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor these
remarkable Texans; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize March 17, 2005, as Women in Longview
Day and extend best wishes to all concerned for a successful and
memorable celebration.
