H.R. No. 801
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jacqueline Padron has been named the Youth of the
Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg, and this occasion
provides a fitting opportunity to recognize this accomplished youth
for her many contributions to both the organization and her
community; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Boys & Girls Clubs for five years,
Ms. Padron has ably served as a tutor, helping others with their
school work, and has provided positive guidance and a listening ear
to all in need; and
WHEREAS, This dynamic Texan is currently a senior at
Edcouch-Elsa High School, where she is a class and National Honor
Society officer and a member of the student council; she has played
softball, volleyball, and basketball and is a varsity cheerleader;
she has also volunteered for Special Olympics, beach cleanup
projects, and food and clothing drives and has participated in
Kellogg Leadership for Community Change; and
WHEREAS, With plans to pursue her education in computer
science, Ms. Padron stands at the threshold of a bright and
rewarding future, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in celebrating
her most recent accomplishment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Jacqueline Padron on being named
Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg and commend
her for her service to others; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Padron as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
