R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may
temper the profound sadness that the passing of Thurman F. Watson of
Baytown on November 26, 2004, at the age of 69, brings to all who
loved him; and
WHEREAS, With his trademark affable nature and affection for
the Texas A&M Aggies, Mr. Watson was a well-known and
much-respected member of the Baytown community; and
WHEREAS, He served the children of the Goose Creek
Consolidated Independent School District as a tennis coach for many
years and enjoyed membership in the Baytown Kiwanis Club and the REL
Key Club, an adjunct of Kiwanis; and
WHEREAS, Thurman Watson is widely missed by family and
friends, but his memory lives on in their hearts and in the
positive, lasting influence he had on his students and throughout
the community he served; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature hereby honor the memory of Thurman F. Watson and extend
sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Syble
Watson; to his daughter, Terrie Duke and her husband, Stewart; to
his son, Allen Watson and his wife, Patty; to his grandchildren,
Wade Hampton and Grant Thurman; and to his other relatives and many
friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Thurman
Watson.
