R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived tempers the profound sadness the passing of Lenora Dorsett brings to all who loved this esteemed Texan, who passed away on February 28, 2005, at the age of 68; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Dorsett and her husband, Tim, owned and operated the Dorsett 221 Truck Stop, and built the business into one of the finest in Texas; in addition, they owned Dorsett Ditching, Inc., and brought water to many communities that otherwise would not have had it; and WHEREAS, A woman who was as generous as she was successful, Mrs. Dorsett, together with her husband, brightened the lives of children in the area by providing the financial support needed to ensure that they received Christmas presents and turkeys during the holidays; the Dorsetts were also enthusiastic supporters of the Hays County and Travis County Livestock Show auctions, where they often purchased livestock from participating young people; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Dorsett will be remembered by family and friends for her sweet personality and charitable nature, and her spirit will long endure in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Lenora Dorsett and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her children, Ronnie, Dennis, Linda, Larry, and Patrick Dorsett, and their spouses; to her grandchildren, Timothy, Skip, Justin, Andy, Sterling, Blake, Kimberly, Travis, Bridget, Ashley, and Ethan Dorsett, Brandon and Kristine Keily, Katherine Rayas, and Mitchel, Michael, and Jasmine Cantrell; to her nine great-grandchildren; to her brothers, Billy and Jimmy Carnline; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Lenora Dorsett.
